The Voice of VMA 2022 — themed “Feel Free to Sing”, was a large-scale campus music competition I organized, directed, and designed as part of the VMA Student Union’s annual event series. The competition featured eight finalists selected through online auditions, with judging based on a combined 60% jury score and 40% audience votes. Due to pandemic restrictions, the final performance was pre-recorded and broadcast online, requiring careful management of production and timing.
Through this project, I learned how to balance creative direction, technical coordination, and audience experience within a team-led event. It also reinforced my belief that design thinking and storytelling can be powerful tools in building emotional connection — even within a digital event format.
