The primary purpose of this piece is to express the impact of educational inequality on people's futures. I used woodworking to make the form of the tree and the figures, as it's our natural right to reach our potential, which the tree represents. The person on the right stands on a stack of paper, representing educational opportunities, boosting their reach and making it easier for them to touch the tree. However, with the disparities in educational resource allocation, it's nigh impossible for the child on the ground to reach the tree no matter how hard they try, with scarce to no resources to extend their reach.

When a person receives more education, they will have more resources and opportunities under their feet, and they will be better able to pick the fruits of the tree and realize their dreams. However, those who receive less education will have to exert much effort before they, sometimes even in vain, reach their full potential. Education can change people's lives for the better, but its unequal distribution could also perpetuate the cycle of scarce educational opportunities or miseducation, and only through careful scrutinization of our educational systems can we strike genuine changes that can positively impact education for future generations and society as a whole.
